Break out the pool and beach days, sprinkler fun, and libations. It’s Summetime ya’ll! While it’s exciting thinking of all the time you’ll spend lounging by the water and/or enjoying outdoor activities, it’s also time to start thinking about how to best take care of your skin and it’s health while being exposed direct UVA rays.
I’m going to share two of the most important summer skincare tips you can NOT skip this season. Listen up!
Wear SPF 100 at all times
With increased exposure to sunlight comes harmful UVA and UVB rays that will severely damage your skin and cause age and sun spots (uneven skin), premature aging, and even cancer. Consistently wearing an SPF 100 helps ensure that your skin will be protected from harmful UV(Aging) rays. Apply sunscreen every morning as your last step in your morning routine to seal products and goodness in, and keep harmful pollutants and oxidants out.
My top favorite option is Banana Boat Ultra Sport Sunscreen Spray SPF 100! It’s lightweight, fresh, breathable while offering endurance against sweat and water!
Another great option is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry- Touch SPF 100. This sunscreen is super lightweight and dries quick leaving the skin feeling clean and not weighted down or greasy. It’s incredibly affordable and can be purchased from Amazon!
Use a Vitamin C Serum daily
Potent amounts of Vitamin C brightens and evens skin tone, plus protects it from premature aging! Its natural antioxidant properties help your body repair damaged skin cells and regenerate new ones in a healing process that literally saves your skin from the negative affects brought on by sun exposure. If you’re a melenated girl or guy- you.need.this!
As a brightening agent that works on age and sun spots, hyperpigmentation and texture, use a Vitamin C serum daily after you wash your face, and before you apply your moisturizer and sunscreen. Check out my Vivian Wynter CC Brightening Serum! It brightens, anti ages, and tones the skin! Plus, it’s vegan, organic, and gluten-free. How’s THAT for products that ACTUALLY work!
With these two tips under your belt, you’ll be ready for summertime, and all year fun! Just remember to reapply sunscreen every few hours, or less if you’re in the water!
